Football Preview: Heppner Mustangs vs. Lost River Raiders        
        
		
             Heppner has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Lost River Raiders at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Heppner is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Waldport  a   58-0 shutout.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heppner to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Zach Brown, who rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. The team also got some help courtesy of  Caleb George, who gained 95 total yards and a touchdown.
 Heppner was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 334  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 173  rushing yards in 13 consecutive  games  dating back to last season.
 Heppner wouldn't let Waldport keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Heppner can thank  Tripp Stewart and  George for forcing both of them.
 Meanwhile, Lost River came tearing into  Saturday's  contest with five straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Greyhounds 42-6.
 Lost River pushed their record up to 8-2 with the  victory, which was their ninth straight  on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.1 points per game. As for Heppner, their record is now 10-0.
 Heppner lost to Lost River on the road  by a decisive  20-6 margin  in their previous meeting  back in September of 2023. Can Heppner avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
