Thursday just wasn't the day for Admiral Farragut's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Canterbury on Thursday. The BlueJackets have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meetings.
Admiral Farragut saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Artie Lipan, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Lipan's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy got the win against The Classical Academy of Sarasota on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-2. The contest marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season.
Christian Castanio and Leif Edoff made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Castanio pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Edoff didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out 12 over 4.2 innings pitched. Castanio has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Castanio scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Edoff went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy got a massive performance out of Andrew Cordani, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Tyler LaPlaca, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4.
