Softball Recap: Taylorville's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Taylorville came into Friday's game having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly Vipers 7-1 on Friday. The Tornadoes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vipers, too.

The team relied heavily on Grace Rogers, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Livia Havera was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

Taylorville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Taylorville's record is now 3-17. As for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.

Taylorville has already played their next matchup, a 7-0 win against New Berlin on the 9th. As for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against North Mac on the 12th.
