After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sealy, Stafford was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the La Marque Cougars 16-1. With that victory, the Spartans brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Jovaughna Mendez made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Mendez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
