Softball Game Preview: Curtis Warriors vs. Scholars Academy

The Curtis Warriors will head out to challenge Scholars Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Curtis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.7 runs per game this season.

Curtis gave up the first runs on Sunday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Naugatuck 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since May 9, 2024.

Abigail Hynes was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Hynes is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Scholars Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 17-11 to Madison.

The win made it two in a row for Curtis and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Scholars Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
