Basketball Recap: Mitchell Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

Mitchell's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-57 victory over the Gibbs Gladiators. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their 12-point performance the match before.

Mitchell was led to victory by Priya Jacob and Kaylana Little. Jacob dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards, while Little went 6 of 15 on her way to 19 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That's the most points Little has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Carys Thuma, who posted six points and four steals.

Mitchell is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Gibbs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Mitchell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-34 win against Winthrop College Prep Academy on the 7th. As for Gibbs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 58-22 victory against Osceola on the 7th.
