Baseball Recap: Chattanooga Christian Comes Up Short

If Chattanooga Christian was riding high fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Webb on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chargers fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 6-5 on Wednesday. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 9-0.

Keegan Nieckula made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Blade Paty, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Chattanooga Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6-1. As for Webb, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chattanooga Christian will square off against Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Webb, they will take on Friendship Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Commanders have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
