Baseball Recap: Mount Juliet Comes Up Short

Mount Juliet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hendersonville Commandos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Commandos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-3 last Tuesday.

Baylor Osborne made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

Mount Juliet's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for Hendersonville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Juliet will square off against University Heights at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Blazers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Golden Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hendersonville, they will face off against Sycamore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
