It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Williston had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildwood Wildcats a 21-0 shutout. Considering the Red Devils have won ten contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Waylon Geiger and Colby Jansen did most of the damage at the plate: Geiger went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Jansen scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Geiger is becoming a predictor of Williston's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 9-10 when he doesn't). Breeden Clemenzi was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
They weren't the only one making solid contact: Williston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Looking ahead, Williston will challenge Chiefland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. Wildwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
