Basketball Recap: Crawford County Comes Up Short

Crawford County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 61-16 defeat at the hands of the Macon County Bulldogs. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-12.

Crawford County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Maliyah Stallion, who posted nine points, and Kamarli McGuire, who earned three points and four steals. Stallion is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Morgan Cochran continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Macon County, going 10 of 19 on her way to 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Aniah Lake was another key player, going 6 for 9 en route to 12 points and six boards.

Crawford County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Macon County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Crawford County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-28 loss against Central on the 14th. As for Macon County, they will face off against Hawkinsville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Macon County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.
