On Friday, Wallace County faced Rawlins County in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Wallace County Wildcats managed a 52-46 win over the Rawlins County Buffaloes. The victory was just business as usual for the Wildcats, who after eight games remain undefeated this season.

Despite the loss, Rawlins County had strong showings from Tayten Dewey, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 21 points and five rebounds, and Kayte Shively, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Shively is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Wallace County pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Rawlins County, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

As for Rawlins County, they will challenge Triplains/Brewster at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
