Football Recap: Trey Evans and Jamon Holmes Lead the Defense for West Brunswick Win

West Brunswick proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 21) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Ashley Screaming Eagle 24-21. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since October 25, 2024.

West Brunswick didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trey Evans and Jamon Holmes. West Brunswick is undefeated when Evans posts one or more interceptions, but 2-4 otherwise.

Although Ashley took the loss, they still got scores from Bryson Lovelace, Julian Morrison, and Jahbari Woodhouse.

West Brunswick's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Ashley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

West Brunswick does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ashley, they will host Hoggard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' defense has only allowed 14.1 points per game this season, so the Screaming Eagle's offense will have their work cut out for them.
