Basketball Recap: Moberly Falls Despite Big Games from Kish Jacobs and Mason Bivins

Moberly suffered their closest loss since November 21, 2023 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Hallsville Indians by a score of 53-50. The Spartans have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Moberly's loss came despite strong showings from Mason Bivins and Kish Jacobs. Bivins went 7 for 14 on his way to 21 points, while Jacobs posted seven points in addition to six assists and five steals. That's the most steals Jacobs has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Amar'E Hawkins, who put up six points.

Moberly's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Hallsville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moberly will face off against Harrisburg at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hallsville, they will challenge California at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
