Softball Preview: Robinson Senators vs. Clinton Yellowjackets
Robinson hasn't had much luck against Clinton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Senators will be playing at home against the Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Robinson took a 16-run defeat the last time they faced off against Stuttgart, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Senators skirted past the Ricebirds 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Senators have posted since March 28, 2024.
Ashley Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. Miller was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Mady Hokams was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Lexi Rowe was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Clinton had just enough and edged out Russellville 7-5 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.
