Volleyball Recap: West Craven Has No Trouble Against North Johnston + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Washington, West Craven was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the North Johnston Panthers 3-0. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Panthers back in September, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

While West Craven might've won, it sure wasn't easy: North Johnston scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-20, 27-25.

West Craven's offense was headlined by Danika Hurst and Sophia Sutton, who picked up 13 kills apiece. They got some help from Taylar Jarman and her 14 assists. Sutton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

When it comes to explaining why North Johnston lost, don't look at Callie Lancaster. Despite the final result, she had six kills, six digs, and three aces. Lancaster is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

West Craven pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for North Johnston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Coincidentally, West Craven and North Johnston will both be playing North Lenoir the next time they take the court. The Eagles will host the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
