Soccer Game Preview: Forest Hills Central vs. East Grand Rapids

The Forest Hills Central Rangers will challenge the East Grand Rapids Pioneers at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.

Forest Hills Central fell victim to Catholic Central and their airtight defense on Thursday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Forest Hills Central came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Catholic Central are ranked 92nd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Grand Rapids). They never let Ottawa Hills get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The win made it two in a row for East Grand Rapids and bumps their season record up to 5-6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matches. As for Forest Hills Central, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3-4.
