Basketball Recap: West Prairie Comes Up Short

West Prairie lost against Macomb back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The West Prairie Cyclones were beaten by the Macomb Bombers 73-16. While losing is never fun, the Cyclones can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 622nd, while the Bombers are ranked 111th).

West Prairie dropped their record down to 2-20 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Macomb, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

West Prairie will head out on the road to square off against Elmwood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Macomb, they will welcome Astoria/VIT at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
