Volleyball Recap: Oakcrest Takes a Loss

Oakcrest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Trinity Christian Gryphons, falling 3-0. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gryphons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Oakcrest took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-15, 26-24.

Their offense was headlined by Maeve O'Beirne and Alice McNiff, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Kimi Kubota and her three assists. McNiff was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Oakcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Trinity Christian, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Oakcrest will welcome Evergreen Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trinity Christian, they will challenge Highland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
