Basketball Game Preview: Mansfield Christian Flames vs. Lucas Cubs

Mansfield Christian hasn't had much luck against Lucas recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mansfield Christian Flames will welcome the Lucas Cubs at 7:30 p.m. Mansfield Christian is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Last Saturday, Mansfield Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over South Central, taking the game 73-61.

Meanwhile, Lucas had to endure a 12-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They slipped by St. Peter's 53-52 last Friday.

Mansfield Christian better keep an eye on Zac Winters. He was instrumental in Lucas' win, going 10 of 22 on his way to 31 points. With that strong performance, Winters is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Another player making a difference was Haden Maloney, who posted six points along with six rebounds and four blocks.

Mansfield Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Lucas, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-12.
