Softball Recap: Lexington Falls Short Against Ranked James F. Byrnes

Lexington faced James F. Byrnes in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Wildcats came up short against the Rebels, falling 10-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 22-5. As for James F. Byrnes, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 21 of their last 22 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season.

While Lexington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
