Soccer Recap: Brandon Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Brandon can now relate to. They fell just short of the Gulfport Admirals by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Admirals are ranked fifth).

Brandon's loss dropped their record down to 13-8-2. As for Gulfport, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which somehow still isn't as good as their 14-3-2 record this season.

Brandon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gulfport, they will square off against Northwest Rankin on Saturday. Northwest Rankin's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Gulfport's offense will have their work cut out for them.
