Bishop Moore hasn't had much luck against Apopka recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Darters at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Bishop Moore is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: Lake Brantley, who was ranked 11th at the time (Bishop Moore was ranked 12th). The Hornets fell 3-1 to the Patriots on Thursday. While the Hornets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Patriots 25-20 in the first set.
Bishop Moore started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-19, 25-9, 25-22.

Bishop Moore's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Marc Francis Callejas, who had 15 digs and one assist, and Cole Ferris, who had six digs. Callejas is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 12 or more in each of the last four games he's played. Will McCoy also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.
Meanwhile, Apopka lost 3-0 to Academy of Central Florida National on Wednesday.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Academy of Central Florida National scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18, 25-20.
Apopka's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Bishop Moore, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.
Bishop Moore couldn't quite get it done against Apopka in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Thankfully for the Hornets, Julian Gonzalez (who had 20 digs and one assist) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
