Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Dunnellon

Dunnellon had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt West Port on Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Wolf Pack. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wolf Pack: they've now won six in a row.

Draven White made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Dunnellon is undefeated when White allows two or fewer hits, but 8-13 otherwise. White was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Brody Roland was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jackson Turner was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Dunnellon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Dunnellon's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-13. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for West Port, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-19.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dunnellon will take on Trinity Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Port, they will face off against Union County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
