Massac County managed to keep up with Murphysboro until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Patriots lost 5-0 to the Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Murphysboro this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 back in April.

Massac County's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-3. As for Murphysboro, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Massac County has already played their next contest (against Vienna/Goreville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Murphysboro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against DuQuoin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Murphysboro will be up against DuQuoin's rather soft defense (which has allowed 9.09 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
