Baseball Recap: Fayette Ware Wins Going Away Against Bolton

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Millington Central, Fayette Ware was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Bolton with a sharp 13-3 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-4 on Monday.

Angel Hernandez made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Landon Holden was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Aiden Ross was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Fayette Ware kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 12.4.

Fayette Ware's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Bolton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fayette Ware will head out to face off against Greenfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bolton, they will venture away from home to square off against Trezevant at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
