Softball Game Preview: West Branch Bears vs. Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks

West Branch and Mid-Prairie are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2016, but likely not for long. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

West Branch came up short against Durant on Thursday, falling 7-1. The Bears have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Mid-Prairie posted their closest win since June 24, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mt. Pleasant, sneaking past 12-11. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Hawks in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

The win got Mid-Prairie back to even at 1-1. As for West Branch, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

West Branch skirted past Mid-Prairie 7-6 when the teams last played back in July of 2024. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Golden Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
