Basketball Game Preview: Basic Wolves vs. Silverado Skyhawks

The Basic Wolves will square off against the Silverado Skyhawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Basic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wolves on Friday. Basic enjoyed a cozy 69-50 win over CIVICA NV.

Kenny Williams had another great game (as he tends to do), going 6-for-10 on his way to 21 points and five boards. His big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points. Hudson Yakubik was another key player, shooting 58% from the field en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

Basic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Silverado played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 74-47 loss at the hands of Legacy. The Skyhawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-23.

Basic is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-13 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points over those games. As for Silverado, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Basic might still be hurting after the 74-48 loss they got from Silverado in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
