Basketball Recap: Bloomfield Takes a Loss

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Bloomfield and Aztec have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Bobcats took a 28-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 37-26 back in January.

Jazzlyn Gomez produced another solid performance almost dropping a triple-double with nine points, 14 rebounds, and 11 steals for Aztec. Gomez is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kamber Martin, who posted six points and three steals.

Bloomfield's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Aztec, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bloomfield will face off against rival Gallup at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Aztec is set to take on their familiar foe Shiprock at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
