Softball Recap: Old Forge Takes a Loss

Old Forge managed to slip by Palmetto Ridge the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Old Forge lost 12-4 to Palmetto Ridge on Friday. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Juliette DeStefano was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate O'Hearn, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Old Forge now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Palmetto Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Old Forge will square off against Valley View at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Palmetto Ridge, they will take on Cypress Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
