Football Recap: Arlington Piles Up the Points Against Ossining

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arlington). They blew past the Ossining Pride 33-6 on Wednesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Admirals with their most commanding win of the season.

Leading Arlington to victory were Gianna Martin and Chase Harris. Martin gained 127 total yards and three touchdowns, while Harris rushed for 66 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Martin also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Admirals are undefeated when she posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 3-5 otherwise.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Arlington was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 201 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Arlington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jamie Gemmel.

Arlington now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Ossining, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Arlington has already played their next contest, a 19-12 victory against Wappinger on the 2nd. Hopefully Ossining paid attention to the Admirals' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Admirals at 4:30 p.m. on the 8th.
