Football Game Preview: Northeast Guilford Rams vs. Asheboro Blue Comets + How To Watch

The Northeast Guilford Rams will venture away from home to square off against the Asheboro Blue Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northeast Guilford's defense has only allowed 8.8 points per game this season, so Asheboro's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Northeast Guilford took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 28-7 margin over Southeast Guilford. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

One reason for the win was Northeast Guilford's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Suleiman Solongo was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 12.

Meanwhile, Asheboro hadn't done well against Eastern Guilford recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Blue Comets snuck past the Wildcats with a 37-33 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Comets considering their three-point performance the matchup before.

Northeast Guilford better keep an eye on Dallas Brinton. He was instrumental in Asheboro's win, rushing for 133 yards and three touchdowns. Connor Brinton got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Asheboro's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-2. As for Northeast Guilford, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-2.
