Softball Game Preview: Cactus Cobras vs. Estrella Foothills Wolves

For the second straight game, Cactus will face off against Estrella Foothills. The Cobras will be playing at home against the Wolves at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Cactus knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Estrella Foothills likes a good challenge.

On Monday, Cactus got the win against Estrella Foothills by a conclusive 13-3. The Cobras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by seven runs or more this season.

Ciara Anthony made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Rhyan Enos was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Faith Larsen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Cactus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .389 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Estrella Foothills has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's still a better percentage than their 4-19 record this season. As for Cactus, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
