Orangeburg-Wilkinson is 4-0 against Lower Richland since March of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins will head out on the road to take on the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Orangeburg-Wilkinson is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-14 win over Lower Richland. The victory was just what Orangeburg-Wilkinson needed coming off of an 18-3 defeat in their prior game.
For Lower Richland's part, Jada Newton led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with six stolen bases, two runs, and a triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Melanie Lane, who scored a run and stole nine bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4. As for Lower Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
