Baseball Recap: Prairie Central Extends Winning Streak to Three

Prairie Central had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Tremont Turks. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by just one run.

Tony Schahrer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Prairie Central's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 7-22 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Prairie Central's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Steidinger, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Prairie Central's win bumped their record up to 9-23. As for Tremont, their loss dropped their record down to 27-6.

Prairie Central will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mt. Pulaski at 1:00 p.m. on June 29. Tremont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
