Football Recap: Tearra Mortimer and Maddison Manragh Pace Western Defense

Western might've scored the first points on Tuesday, but it was Wellington who claimed the real prize. The Western Wildcats fell to the Wellington Wolverines 12-6. The match was a 6-6 toss-up at halftime, but the Wildcats couldn't quite close it out.

Western didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tearra Mortimer and Maddison Manragh.

The critical scores for Wellington came from Mia Ciezak and Angelia Bistrong.

This is the second loss in a row for Western and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Wellington, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Western wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 25-6 win against Cypress Bay on the 5th. As for Wellington, they will be playing at home against Dwyer at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Dwyer's defense has only allowed 10.5 points per game this season, so Wellington's offense will have their work cut out for them.
