Basketball Recap: Daniel Tapia's Big Game Can't Quite Lead New Designs University Park over University Prep Value

If New Designs University Park was riding high fresh off their 44-7 takedown of Lakeview Charter on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the University Prep Value Wolves on Thursday. The loss put an end to the Cardinals' undefeated start to the season.

New Designs University Park lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Daniel Tapia, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds. Tapia is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Dorian Pollard, who had 11 points and five boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, New Designs University Park fell to 2-1. As for University Prep Value, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

New Designs University Park and University Prep Value will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games.
