Basketball Game Preview: Yellville-Summit Panthers vs. Valley Springs Tigers

Yellville-Summit and Valley Springs are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Yellville-Summit Panthers take on the Valley Springs Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Yellville-Summit came up short against Melbourne on Friday, falling 70-49. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Bearkatz are ranked 46th).

Meanwhile, Valley Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 74-62 to Flippin.

Yellville-Summit has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Valley Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 5-19.

Yellville-Summit barely slipped by Valley Springs in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 50-49. Does Yellville-Summit have another victory up their sleeve, or will Valley Springs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
