Basketball Recap: Ninilchik Takes a Loss

Ninilchik was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a blow against Tok, falling 65-25. Ninilchik lost against Tok in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 56-48 score last time.

Tok found their leader in freshman Allison Demit, who went 10-for-20 to rack up 23 points. Another player making a difference was Skyla Frank-Young, who posted seven points and five steals.

Ninilchik's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Tok, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Ninilchik and Tok will both be playing Unalaska the next time they take the court. Tok will head out to face Unalaska at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, while Ninilchik will host them at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
