Soccer Game Preview: Pinewood vs. King's Academy

Pinewood hasn't had much luck against King's Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Pinewood Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the King's Academy Knights at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Pinewood is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game back in December of 2024. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of MacDonald. Even if the Panthers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, King's Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crystal Springs Uplands. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Knights haven't been shut out since back in December of 2024.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-2. As for Pinewood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Pinewood came up short against King's Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Pinewood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
