Football Recap: Cedar Crest Takes a Loss

If Cedar Crest was feeling good fresh off their 48-6 takedown of J.P. McCaskey last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons took a blow against the Hempfield Black Knights on Friday, falling 43-13. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Black Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Cedar Crest lost, don't look at Isaiah Zimmerman. Despite the final result, he rushed for 174 yards and one score while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Zimmerman's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.

Cedar Crest now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Hempfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Cedar Crest will welcome Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons will be up against the Cedars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 45.78 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hempfield, they will face off against Reading at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Black Knights will be up against the Red KNights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.22 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
