Bullard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of the Teague Lions by a score of 30-28. One positive for the Panthers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, Bullard still got an impressive performance from Crew Bowman, who rushed for 39 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 248 yards and a touchdown. A healthy portion of that aerial production (124 yards to be exact) went to Hendrix Smith.

Bullard wouldn't let Teague keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Bullard can thank Nehemiah Thomas and Dylan Fowler for forcing both of them.

A big part of Teague's victory came down to the chemistry between Zak Leija and his top target Bryce Bates. Leija rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries while Bates picked up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. Leija's longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Bullard's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Teague, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bullard will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rusk at 7:30 p.m. on October 11th. Bullard is facing Rusk at the right time seeing as Rusk is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Teague also won't see the field for a while: their next contestis against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on October 11th.
