Volleyball Recap: Southern Guilford Takes a Loss

Southern Guilford lost against Western Guilford back in September of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Storm came up short against the Hornets, falling 3-0.

While Southern Guilford was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Western Guilford's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-15, 25-17.

Leading Western Guilford to victory were Riley Adler and Payton Wood. Adler had 18 assists and six aces, while Wood had five digs and four aces. Those 18 assists gave Adler a new career-high.

Southern Guilford dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Western Guilford, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern Guilford will challenge Ragsdale at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Western Guilford, they will host Northeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
