Basketball Recap: Forest Hill Falcons vs. Dreyfoos School of the Arts Jaguars
Forest Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 31-28 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Jaguars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-16 back in November of 2024.
Dreyfoos School of the Arts found their leader in sophomore Kaitlyn Maldonado, who posted 14 points and four steals. What's more, Maldonado also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Petra Dababneh was another key player, putting up seven points and eight rebounds.
Forest Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Dreyfoos School of the Arts, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forest Hill will challenge Sports Leadership & Management at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dreyfoos School of the Arts, they will take on Inlet Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Inlet Grove's defense has only allowed 21.5 points per game this season, so Dreyfoos School of the Arts' offense will have their work cut out for them.
