Basketball Recap: Giltner Falls Despite Big Games from Peyton Schutt and Avery Reeson

Giltner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They came up short against the Twin River Titans, falling 52-27. The Hornets were not able to make up for their loss to the Titans from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Giltner had strong showings from Avery Reeson, who posted 13 points and three steals, and Peyton Schutt, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 20 rebounds. That was a full 48.1% of Giltner's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Giltner's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Twin River, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Giltner will head out on the road to take on Gibbon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Twin River has already played their next game, a 59-37 win against Meridian on the 25th.
