Softball Recap: Moody Blue Devils vs. West Blocton Tigers
Moody picked up another tournament win on Thursday. Everything went their way against the West Blocton Tigers as the Moody Blue Devils made off with a 13-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.
Laney Saunier and Chloe Phillips dominated on the mound. Saunier pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Phillips pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs Phillips has allowed since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, Kendall Trimm was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Rogers, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Moody's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Moody wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Mortimer Jordan on the 14th. As for West Blocton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Chelsea on the 13th.
