Baseball Recap: Spring Hill Comes Up Short

Spring Hill had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 9-14 to make it four. They lost 6-0 to the Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Shelbyville Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

For Shelbyville Central's part, Stephen Bobo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Bobo has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 14 contests.

In other batting news, Shelbyville Central got a big performance out of William Bobo, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Bobo has posted over his last 11 matches. Another player making a difference was Reager Edwards, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Shelbyville Central beat Spring Hill by a score of 13-4 later that day.
