While Steele's victory against Clemens wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Steele sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over Clemens on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted against the Buffaloes since April 12, 2022.

Avery BrAdy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. Brady was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Janice Corona and Alyssa Vicenty did most of the damage at the plate: Corona went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Vicenty scored a run while going 2-for-4. Alexandria Salinas was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Steele is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Clemens has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Steele will take on rival East Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Clemens is set to challenge their familiar foe San Marcos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
