Softball Game Preview: East Bay Indians vs. Lennard Longhorns

East Bay is 7-2 against Lennard since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. East Bay will head out to challenge Lennard at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

East Bay took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Freedom 17-2. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.

Jensen Nelson was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Briel, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

East Bay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .652. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Lennard came into Saturday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against Armwood on Saturday as Lennard made off with a 17-2 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Longhorns considering their one-run performance the contest before.

East Bay's record is now 6-8. As for Lennard, their record now sits at 5-6.

Everything went East Bay's way against Lennard in their previous meeting on March 13th, as East Bay made off with a 13-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Bay since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
