Baseball Recap: Acalanes Dons vs. Benicia Panthers        
        
		
            
 After having lost a blowout in their  previous game, Acalanes was happy to have turned things around  on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  2-1  win over the Benicia Panthers. This was a revenge  matchup for Acalanes, as the team was forced to settle for  an  8-1 loss when these two played  last Tuesday.
  Peter Thorn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered one  run (which was  unearned)  on three hits.
 At the plate,  Benji O?Rourke was  excellent,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  RBI.
 On Benicia's side, they got a good showing from  Cormac O?Connell, who   didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits over four innings pitched.
 On the hitting side, Benicia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Nash Rubins, who  went 1-for-2 with a  stolen base. Rubins is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games he's  played.
 Acalanes' victory bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Benicia, their defeat  ended  a  seven-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 12-7.
 Acalanes will head out on the road to  face off against  Clayton Valley Charter at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Benicia, they will be playing at home against College Park at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
