Soccer Game Preview: Shades Valley vs. Mountain Brook

Shades Valley hasn't had much luck against Mountain Brook recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Shades Valley will square off against Mountain Brook at 5:00 p.m. Shades Valley is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Last Tuesday, Shades Valley made easy work of Lincoln and carried off a 6-2 win. The result was nothing new for Shades Valley, who have now won ten matches by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Lincoln with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ainsley Roberts (2), Aaliyah Carter (2), Catherine Nelson, and Yasaira Mancilla.

Meanwhile, Mountain Brook faced Spain Park in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Wednesday. Neither Mountain Brook nor Spain Park could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Mountain Brook have been dealt a draw since back in February.

Shades Valley pushed their record up to 11-2-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those four contests. Mountain Brook's draw gives them a new season record of 7-2-2.

Shades Valley suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Mountain Brook in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Shades Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
